Learning Mentors
Mr Cooney
As Learning Mentors at Rice Lane Primary & Nursery School, we work with children and their families, to reduce barriers to learning and to help raise self-esteem. enabling the children to reach their full potential and to receive a full all-round education.
Our work compliments and supports everyone involved in the teaching of the children, and promotes a safe, secure and happy environment in which the children can learn.
We work with the children on a one-to-one basis, in group work and sometimes with the class.
We work closely with families providing both emotional and practical support in a variety of ways. This may vary from general advice on a variety of topics to specific support through an EHAT. We support parents via training, signposting and providing practical support such as holiday clubs, food parcels or presents at Christmas.
