Keeping your child Safe Online

E-Safety is a SAFEGUARDING issue. Not an ICT / Computing issue.

While the use of technology opens up the world to our pupils, often igniting and bringing alive learning, we need to ensure we also send out the message to children of how to use technology safely and responsibly.

E-Safety is about protecting children and young people whilst they are in our care and educating them for when they are not.

We hope this page on our website is useful for parents and for children, as a starting point for discussing how great technology is, but also how we can be safe online.

Parents and Carers of Rice Lane children are invited to a meeting to discuss online safety. The meetings are to be held on Tuesday 15th March. Parents can attend either 2.30 - 3.30pm or 5.30 - 6.30pm. It is essential all parents attend, due to the high level of incidences the school has become aware of, involving children from Rice lane Primary being a victim of cyber bullying or online grooming. The meeting will make parents aware of how to ensure all devices are kept as safe as possible from any potential threat, so children can continue to use technology at home safely and securely.
